Legal notice

ConsentLayer is software, not legal advice, and it has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Nothing in the package, its defaults or this documentation states or guarantees that a site using it complies with the GDPR, the ePrivacy Directive, US state privacy laws or any other law.

What the law requires depends on where you operate, where your visitors are, what data you collect, what you use it for and which vendors receive it. It covers more than the code: the wording and design of your banner, your privacy and cookie policies, your contracts with vendors and how long you keep data. ConsentLayer gives you the mechanisms, such as consent categories, re-consent, Global Privacy Control and consent records; how you configure and use them is your decision.

You are responsible for making sure your implementation is lawful in every jurisdiction it applies to. Have it reviewed by a qualified lawyer before you rely on it.

ConsentLayer is provided under the MIT License, “as is”, without warranty of any kind, and its authors are not liable for any claim or damages arising from its use.
